A Global Game Jam adventure!

In about a week and a half, I have the incredible honor to be the Keynote speaker at Global Game Jam Hamar, in Norway! I will be talking about working as a voice actor, and how game audio and voice acting impact us on emotional levels. I’ve been a part of some incredible projects that have affected players in very deep ways, so it’s exciting to explore that more.
Another reason why this experience is precious to me is that I can honor the memory of Jory Prum, who was a dear friend and fantastic audio engineer for so many projects I am grateful to be a part of. He absolutely loved life and people- his legacy lives on in so many of us. Norway was one of his favorite places to be… I’m absolutely honored to speak in his name, surrounded by so many who admire him too.
Huge thanks to the Hamar Game Collective for making this happen- I can’t wait to see everyone!

Catch up and 2016 Cons

Hi Friends,
I am astounded at how much time has passed since I’ve written… time moves so fast!
I’ve had so many adventures since I was last here- many miles flown, Mega-buses napped in and Cons attended, unexpected magic moments, exciting dreams coming true and the best thing I could ever hope for actually happening!!
I’m just beginning my Con season, and so far, so great. I’ve been having a blast! A few weeks ago I was a guest at Animarathon, hosted by Anime in Northwest Ohio (ANO), the anime club at Bowling Green State University. It was my second year as a guest there, and reconfirmed what a great show they put on.
The very next weekend, I got to hang out at Walker Stalker Con in Denver and met Lilly and Carley cosplayers– which completely blew my mind and was even more wonderful because they had no idea I was going to be at the con!
IMG_3274I am so looking forward to the rest of the year- attending new places and revisiting others I’ve really enjoyed.

Kraken Con Released

My Kraken Con Collectible

My Kraken Con Collectible

A few weeks ago I took a train for about 5 minutes to a Con in my own city.  Kraken Con, a fantastic Anime extravaganza, took place at the Oakland Convention Center on a very hot weekend at the beginning of October. Indian Summer, we call it.
I was thankful for the air conditioning! Continue reading

A bit of Lilly for fans of Telltale’s The Walking Dead Game

For those of you who have already enjoyed the game, or are just playing now, I thought I’d share some clips of my performance as Lilly in Telltale Games- The Walking Dead.
Lilly may be misunderstood – but you can’t deny that she fights for what she cares about. Many players have very strong feelings about her character- but what would you have done if you’d lost all you love and had nothing left?

I’ve heard that she may show up in the Continue reading

The Nordic Game Experience

I’ve been home for almost a week from one of the most incredible experiences in my career as an actor so far; a very affirming and exciting time… and something that I will never forget.
I really didn’t know what to expect at the Nordic Game Conference, but what I encountered was completely wonderful and very exciting in so many ways.
It all began with a steak dinner at Jory’s favorite place. Dave and Eric arrived and we all met to talk and realize that yes, this was really happening! Another fun thing about that night was meeting a lot of Norwegians and some other really cool Nords and non-Nords too. Good dinner, great company.
I was there and it was real!
Wednesday was Indie Game Night at the Conference, so people were sharing their games; there was lots to drink and many business cards exchanged. It was especially fun because I spent most of the night hanging out with Tim Schafer, and Continue reading

Hej, Malmo!

Nicki Rapp Lilly and Dave Fennoy Lee-Walking Dead

About a month ago, I received an email from Jory Prum, the awesome Audio Guy who recorded all the voice sessions for Telltale’s The Walking Dead Game. He asked me if I was up for an adventure…. and my answer to that is always, “Yes!”
Next week in Malmo, Sweden, the Nordic Game Conference will be taking place – and I will be there to be a part of a Keynote entitled “The Talking Dead: Voicing a Dynamic Narrative”. I’ll be on the panel with Dave Fennoy (Lee Everett), Eric Parsons (Director of Episode 3) and Continue reading
