Raz and Lili sittin in a tree…

I met an artist in my neighborhood who is also a fan of Psychonauts– and he had just been commissioned to draw Raz and Lili for a couple from the hood as well. Pretty cool timing! Michael Manomivibul gave me a copy of the print and I am absolutely in love with it. A perfect scene for Raz and Lili… and so much lurking in the dark!

More Broken Age Cast announcements!

So far the cast of Broken Age is really incredible. Jennifer Hale and Jack Black, ooh dang. Today we have a few more! I have to be honest…. seeing my name in the second casting reveal was a really great moment for me.  Now it’s really official!

If that wasn’t exciting enough…. Continue reading

Broken Age!

I had been waiting very patiently: crossing my fingers, wishing on stars, my left shoes full of heads-up pennies… and it happened. I am so excited to be a part of another Double Fine Adventure!
Double Fine is the best because there is so much thoughtfulness and beauty mixed in with brilliant writing and insane silliness. Always a lot of giggling. My first session was definitely all that and I got a ride to the train in Tim Schafer’s sweet wheels!

Tim Schafer even has a rad car.

As for the game itself, here is a Continue reading

Day of the Devs!

Last Saturday I got to attend a fantastic event in San Francisco that was put on by my favorite game Developer, Double Fine. Day of the Devs was an “impossibly excellent” day full of games, music, art and a lot of really awesome, creative people.
When I arrived, Tim Schafer was up on the stage talking about Double Fine’s new game, the Kickstarter funded, Broken Age.

Figurines and Cosplay. Oh my!

Being an artist is not for the faint hearted. I know that I definitely have my ups and downs with this business. I’m always hustling for the next opportunity, but the reality is, I apply for jobs almost every single day that I don’t get. My only choice is to believe that with the down times, hopefully the ups won’t be too far behind- I’m very thankful and lucky to know how that feels. Can it just happen soon, please?
I haven’t given up and I don’t plan on it anytime soon … but in this moment, some pretty cool things have come to my attention that have given me cause to smile- and I wanted to share.

The Nordic Game Experience

I’ve been home for almost a week from one of the most incredible experiences in my career as an actor so far; a very affirming and exciting time… and something that I will never forget.
I really didn’t know what to expect at the Nordic Game Conference, but what I encountered was completely wonderful and very exciting in so many ways.
NordicGameTag
It all began with a steak dinner at Jory’s favorite place. Dave and Eric arrived and we all met to talk and realize that yes, this was really happening! Another fun thing about that night was meeting a lot of Norwegians and some other really cool Nords and non-Nords too. Good dinner, great company.
I was there and it was real!
Wednesday was Indie Game Night at the Conference, so people were sharing their games; there was lots to drink and many business cards exchanged. It was especially fun because I spent most of the night hanging out with Tim Schafer, and Continue reading

Hej, Malmo!

Nicki Rapp Lilly and Dave Fennoy Lee-Walking Dead

About a month ago, I received an email from Jory Prum, the awesome Audio Guy who recorded all the voice sessions for Telltale’s The Walking Dead Game. He asked me if I was up for an adventure…. and my answer to that is always, “Yes!”
Next week in Malmo, Sweden, the Nordic Game Conference will be taking place – and I will be there to be a part of a Keynote entitled “The Talking Dead: Voicing a Dynamic Narrative”. I’ll be on the panel with Dave Fennoy (Lee Everett), Eric Parsons (Director of Episode 3) and Continue reading

Freshness

You know that sort of exuberance that comes over you when you’re the first one to use the peanut butter? Opening it up, breathing it in… and to make it even better- you’re the one that gets to make a little design on the top.

A strange way to think of a new website, perhaps… but I’m a little strange. 🙂
My old site, nickirapp.com, was Continue reading

The Lili who came first

Lili as Nicki RappI was just perusing the interwebs, and came across the most excellent fan art from the most excellent game, Psychonauts! I was the voice of Lili Zanotto in this brilliant game, created by Doublefine Productions and Tim Schafer. I really hope we get a chance to continue the adventure in Psychonauts 2 so Lili gets to make out more with her Psychonaut boyfriend Raz and of course solve more honest to goodness psychic emergencies!
