You know that sort of exuberance that comes over you when you’re the first one to use the peanut butter? Opening it up, breathing it in… and to make it even better- you’re the one that gets to make a little design on the top.
A strange way to think of a new website, perhaps… but I’m a little strange. 🙂
My old site, nickirapp.com, was lost in an unfortunate Mancunian kurfuffle- but sometimes things happen to make room for something even cooler. I’m excited about the possibilities and looking forward to writing about all kinds of unexpected and amazing ventures.
Being a part of Telltale’s The Walking Dead has been a pretty amazing ride. I don’t know what has happened to “Lilly”…. I hope she makes it back somehow- leading a new group and not taking any crap from anyone. I can’t be the only one who feels this way!
In this business you never know what will come next- just have to keep auditioning and taking chances on characters and yourself.
I’ve been recording a lot of stuff for The Sims lately- not just as a Child Sim, but as a Voice Director. It has been an interesting challenge for me so far. Being on the other side of the mic is pretty different! I’ve learned a lot more about the language- there is so much imagination in it, and I love hearing the new Simlish that evolves from the other actors. I’m still figuring it all out, but I am enjoying it. It’s not an easy job- sometimes by the end of the day I feel like my brain has used full capacity in every possible manner- well- actually… that’s normal with a day of Simlish. It’s a good kinda tired to be.
In the coming months I have some exciting events coming up, and events I hope to be a part of. Starting a new website, writing this first blog…. opening that jar and letting the freshness out. In many ways I feel like I’m on a new path that has a lot more trail to choose from- and something I’ve learned through the years- the smoothest path is not always the best.
Sometimes you have to go for crunchy- you never know what you’ll find at the top.
